Gaoling Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Miyun District, Beijing, is located in the northeastern part of Miyun District, between longitude 117°00′56″~117°10′32″ East and latitude 40°32′31″~40°41′59″ North. It is bordered by Taishitun Town in the east, Miyun Reservoir in the south, Bulaotun Town in the west, Luanping County of Hebei Province in the north and Gubeikou Town in the northeast. The town area is 122.43 square kilometers.
In 1953, Gaoling Township was established in Gaoling District.In 1958, the township was changed to a commune.In 1983, the township was reestablished.In 1993, the 2 townships of Shangdianzi and Gaoling were merged to form Gaoling Township. As of the end of 2018, Gaoling Township had a household population of 17,979. As of June 2020, Gaoling Township has 2 communities and 21 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township government located at No. 8, Government Road, Gaoling Village.
In 2011, the total industrial output value of Gaoling Township was 334.92 million yuan, an increase of 21% over the previous year. Total fiscal revenue of 140 million yuan, an increase of 23% over the previous year. From the point of view of each major tax, the completion of sales tax 21.89 million yuan, value-added tax 43.64 million yuan, corporate income tax 54.74 million yuan, personal income tax 8.16 million yuan, respectively, an increase of 86%, 40%, 9%, 20% over the previous year.
