Gubeikou Town, belonging to Miyun District of Beijing, is located in the northeastern part of Miyun District, 55 kilometers away from the urban area, with a total area of 85.82 square kilometers, and a total population of 9,234 as of the end of 2019. The town government is located in Gubeikou Village, known as the "Gateway to Yanjing" and the "Key to the Capital".
The Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Yan State in Gubeikou built piers and set up defenses to prevent the East Hu invasion, commonly known as Beikou. In the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), Hedong and Heshi merged to restore Miyun District and set up Gubeikou Town.In 1990, Gubeikou Town was built. As of October 2019, Gubeikou Town has 4 neighborhood committees and 9 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The main attractions include Simatai Great Wall, Gubeikou Urn City, Yang Linggong Temple, etc. On October 14, 2016, Gubeikou Town was named the first batch of "Chinese Characteristic Towns" by the Ministry of Housing and Construction, and on July 28, 2019, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced Gubeikou Village as the first batch of the list of national key villages for rural tourism.
In 2017, the number of enterprises in Gubeikou Town totaled 38, with 3,069 employees in the enterprises, including 18 industrial enterprises.
