Subogei Township, belonging to Tumet Right Banner of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the eastern part of Tumet Right Banner, adjoining Meidaizhao Township in the east, looking south to Shogun Yao Township, neighboring Salazhi Township and Haizi Township in the west, and bordering with Goumen Township in the north. The area covers 152 square kilometers. As of the end of 2018, the household population was 35,167.
In 1958, it was annexed to Tumet Banner with Sarazi County. When communization, it belonged to Dongfeng Commune.In April 1959, Dongfeng Commune was renamed Meidaizhao Commune.In 1961, it was separated from Meidaizhao Commune and set up Subogei Commune.In 1969, it belonged to the Right Banner of Tumet after Tumet Banner was divided into Left and Right Banners of Tumet.In 1984, Subogei Commune was changed into a township.In June 2020, Subogei Township had 20 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
