Masha Town, belonging to Jianyang District, Nanping City, Fujian Province, is located in the western part of Jianyang District, at the junction of Wuyishan City, Shaowu City and Jianyang District; it is connected to Jukou Town in the east, Shufang Township in the south, Shaowu City in the west, Huangkeng Township in the northwest, and Wuyishan City in the northeast, with an area of 462.41 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, Masha Town has a household population of 36,900.
During the Song Dynasty, it belonged to Yongzhongli, Changpingli (later renamed Wo Pingli, which is today's Changping), and Beiluoli (today's Jieshou), and was extended to the Qing Dynasty.In October 1984, the commune was abolished, and the town of Masha was established. As of June 2020, Ma Sha Town has 1 community and 23 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town's people's government is located at 136 West Street.
