Jianyang District, belonging to Nanping City, Fujian Province, is located in the north of Fujian Province, the center of Nanping City. It is located between 27°16′32″~27°43′41″ north latitude and 117°32′20″~118°37′51″ east longitude. It has a middle-subtropical monsoon climate, rich in light and heat resources, short winter and long summer, which is suitable for the reproduction of plants and animals, and it is known as "the hometown of Harvest". The total area is 3,383 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Jianyang District has 5 streets, 8 towns, and 3 townships under its jurisdiction, with the district government stationed at No. 28, Renmin Road, Tancheng Street. According to the seventh census data, as of the end of 2022, Jianyang District has a resident population of 344,000 people.
Jianyang District has a long history and culture. In the 10th year of Han Jian'an (205), the county was established, which is one of the first five counties in Fujian Province. 1994, the county was abolished to set up a city, and in March 2015, the city was abolished to set up a district. 2020, the administrative center of Nanping was formally relocated to Jianyang. Awarded China's toponymic cultural heritage "Millennium Ancient County", it is the hometown of Zhu Xi, the Song Dynasty philosopher, educator, philosopher, "the originator of the world of forensic medicine," Song Ci and Chengmen Lixue, the main character of the tour of entertainment. Jianyang is the "Capital of Jiankiln Jianjian", and Jiankiln Jianjian is listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection List. Jianyang is one of the three major printing centers in the Song Dynasty, and enjoys the reputation of "House of Books" and "Country of Jianben". In 2022, Jianyang District realized an annual gross domestic product (GDP) of 27.899 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.7%.
