Wangu Town, belonging to Chongqing Dazu District, is located in the eastern part of Dazu District, bordering with Yongxi Town and Gulong Town in the southeast, connected with Jinshan Town in the west, neighboring with Ziwan Town in the southwest, and adjoining with Guoliang Town in the north, 29 kilometers away from the seat of the People's Government of Dazu District, with a total area of 66.49 square kilometers. In the forty-fourth year of Ming Jiajing (1565), Cai Bo Guan organized the White Lotus Sect to rise up in Wangu Field and set the capital at Wangu Field; in December 1993, Wangu Township was withdrawn to set up Wangu Town. As of the end of 2018, the household population of Wangu Town was 57,792. As of June 2020, Wangu Town has 4 communities and 11 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town's people's government is located at No. 193, Annex 10, Wanxing Road. In 2018, there were 148 industrial enterprises in Wangu Town, of which 22 were above scale, and there were 11 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
