Xinsheng Township, located in the north of the county, borders with Dazhou City and Kaijiang County in Sichuan Province. The town covers an area of 65.6 square kilometers, and the tributaries of the Mingyue River cross the town. Jurisdiction of 11 village committees 99 village groups and 1 street community committee 4 resident groups, population of 35,458 people. With a cultivated land area of 24702 acres, the town was approved in June 1999 as a pilot town for small town construction in Chongqing Municipality, and in October 2002, it was approved as a municipal border trade town in Chongqing Municipality.
