Fangzhuang Street, a street under the jurisdiction of Fengtai District, Beijing, is located in the easternmost part of Fengtai District, between longitude 116°24′55″~116°26′47″ East and latitude 39°51′21″~39°52′17″ North. East to Fangzhuang East Road, southeast to the west of the Minminsi Interchange Bridge and the Chaoyang District 18 Lidian Township junction, south to the South Third Ring Road, southwest to the Liujiayao Bridge, west to the Puhuangyu Road and the East Tieshanying Street adjacent to the north-west to Yufengyiao Bridge, north to the South Second Ring Road on the edge of the moat with the Dongcheng District Longtan Street, northeast to the South Huawei Road and Chaoyang District 18 Lidian Township junction. The maximum distance between east and west of the district is 2.7 kilometers, the maximum distance between north and south is 1.7 kilometers, with a total area of 3.1 square kilometers.
Fangzhuang area was formerly known as Puhuangyu brigade of Nanyuan Commune in Fengtai District. 1951, Puhuangyu Township was established by connecting the first names of three villages, namely Puhuangzhuang, Huangtukeng and Yushu Village. 1958, it was changed to Puhuangyu brigade of Nanyuan Commune. 1984, August 23, all the farmers of Puhuangyu and Chengshousi brigades were relocated to the development and construction of the Fangzhuang Residential Area. 1985, May 9, Fangzhuang Area Office was set up. In May 2021, Fangzhuang District was abolished and Fangzhuang Street was established.
As of June 2020, there are 16 communities under the jurisdiction of Fangzhuang Street (district).In 2011, Fangzhuang Street (district) had a total population of 85,000 people, with a total of more than 50 commercial outlets and 16,000 employees. The tax revenue of the reserved area was 380 million yuan, an increase of 30.7% over the previous year.
