Tsuen Wan District, one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong, China, is located in the southern part of Hong Kong's New Territories, about 5 kilometers from Kowloon, and has an area of about 6,070 hectares. According to the 2004 Hong Kong Government estimate, the population of Tsuen Wan District is about 290,000. The Tsuen Wan New Town, which includes part of the Tsuen Wan District, is the second new town (formerly known as a satellite town) in Hong Kong, which began to develop in the late 1950s. With the opening of the Hong Kong International Airport and other infrastructures such as the Hong Kong Disneyland, Tsuen Wan has become an area of high development potential in Hong Kong.
