Fangping Township, formerly under Guang'an District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southwestern part of Guang'an District, and is separated from Huaying Yongxing and Mingyue Townships across the river in the east, bordering with Hualong Township in the south, connecting with Wearing Stone Township and Wansheng Street in the west, and adjoining with Zhongqiao Street and Guansheng Township in the north. The area is 28.57 square kilometers, with a household population of 25,569 as of the end of 2018.
In the twenty-ninth year of the Republic of China (1940), Chaoyang Township was set up.In 1950, it was merged into Hualong Township.In 1984, the commune was changed to a township.In October 1992, it was merged into Guansheng Township.In June 1994, it was analyzed and set up Fangping Township.In December 2019, Fangping Township and Hualong Township were abolished, and the administrative areas belonging to them were transferred to the jurisdiction of Guansheng Township.
In 2018, Fangping Township had 6 industrial enterprises, including 2 above scale, and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with business area over 50 square meters.
In 2019, Fangping Township was abolished and assigned to Guansheng Township.
