Xingping Town, belonging to Guang'an District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, is located in the western part of Guang'an District, neighboring Yangping Township in the east, Yuelai Township in the south, Tianping Township in Yuechi County in the west, and Jinghe Township and Zhengshan Township in the north. The area is 35.96 square kilometers, with a household population of 18,807 as of the end of 2018.
In the second year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty (1910), Taiping Township was set up.In 1958, the township was changed to a commune.In 1981, the name was changed to Xingping Commune.In 1983, the commune was changed to a township.In October 1992, the three townships of Xingping, Yangping, and Xiaozhong were merged to form Xingping Township.In December 2019, the Yangping Township was abolished, and the administrative area belonging to it was transferred to the jurisdiction of Xingping Township. As of June 2020, Xingping Township has 2 communities and 14 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
