Guang'an District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, the political, economic and cultural center of Guang'an City, is located in the eastern part of Sichuan Province, Guang'an City, north-central, located in the middle of the Huayhuash Mountains west, the Yangtze River secondary tributary of the lower reaches of the Qiujiang River, subtropical humid monsoon climate, adjacent to five counties, districts (cities), with a total area of 1,027.75 square kilometers. As of June 2023, Guang'an District has 6 streets, 16 towns and 3 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Guang'an District had a resident population of 743,000, with a total household population of 797,000 people.
In the second year of Kaibao of the Northern Song Dynasty (969), the Guang'an Army was established with the meaning of "Guangtu Anzhu", "Guangtu" means vast land, and "Anzhu" means to stabilize and make stability. On July 2, 1993, Guang'an County was transferred to the jurisdiction of Guang'an District; on July 31, 1998, Guang'an District and Guang'an County were abolished, and Guang'an City and Guang'an District were set up at the prefecture level; in February 2013, the State Council approved the adjustment of the administrative division of Guang'an District, which was set up as Guang'an District and Qianfeng District. The main attractions of Guang'an District include Deng Xiaoping's former residence, Shenlongshan Ba Ren Stone City, Dayun Mountain, and Zuiping Park, etc. In August 2022, Guang'an District was selected as the "Sichuan Province 2022 County Business Building Action Demonstration Counties (Cities and Districts) List".In January 2023, Guang'an District was selected as the "Fifth Batch of In January 2023, Guang'an District was selected as one of the "Fifth Batch of Counties (Districts) Achieving the Standard of Water-saving Social Construction".
In 2022, Guang'an District realized a gross domestic product (GDP) of 25.55 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%; the ratio of added value of the first, second and third industries was 16.3:14.2:69.5; the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 43,360 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%; the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 20,329 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
