Helinger County, located in the south of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, under the jurisdiction of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Hohhot County, is located in the south-central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, southeastern part of Hohhot City, located in the Jin-Mongolian border area, Hohhot-Bao'e "Golden Triangle" hinterland. North and Hohhot City, Tumet Left Banner connected to the west and Tokoto County adjacent to the south and the Qingshuihe County border; east and Ulaanchab City, Liangcheng County, Shanxi Province, Yuyu County border. Helinger New District, Hohhot New Airport, and Helinger Dairy Development Zone are all located within the jurisdiction, with a total area of 3,436 square kilometers in the county. As of October 2022, Helinger County has 4 towns, 4 townships, 2 street preparatory groups, 150 administrative villages and 10 communities.At the end of 2022, the county had a household population of 201,900 people.
In 2023, the county was recognized as a national science and technology demonstration county.
