Ningcheng County, a county under the jurisdiction of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the east-central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the southern part of Chifeng City, in the transition zone between the Inner Mongolia Plateau and the Songliao Plain, and at the confluence of the southern end of the Daxing'anling Mountains and the Yanshan Mountain Range, with a mid-temperate, subarid continental monsoon climate, adjoining six banners and counties (municipalities), with a total area of about 4,305 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Ningsheng County has 3 streets, 13 towns, 2 townships, and another 7 township-level units under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Ningcheng County had a total household population of 599,318, a resident population of 481,800, and an urbanization rate of 34.47%.
Ningcheng County is named after "宁" (Ning), which is the name of the former Daining District Administration, and "城" (Cheng), which is the name of the resident Xiaochengzi, meaning the city of peace and tranquility. Ningcheng area since the Neolithic era on the footprints of mankind; summer and commerce, there have been Xiongnu, Xianbei, Jurchen, Mongolia, Han and many other ethnic groups thrive here; since the Qing Dynasty to the end of the Republic of China, Ningcheng area of the Mongolian system of Zhuozuo Sotu alliance, the Han system of the Jehol province, the long-term implementation of the Mongolian and Han partition; Republic of China in the twenty-second year (1933), the establishment of the Ningcheng County.
The main attractions of Ningcheng County are Liaozhongjing Ruins, Falun Temple, Heili River Nature Reserve, etc. On November 2, 2021, Ningcheng County was selected as the "Second Batch of Pilot Counties (Districts) for Appropriate Techniques for Prevention and Control of Nearsightedness in Children and Teenagers of the People's Republic of China".In August, 2022, Ningcheng County was selected as the "2022 Agricultural Modernization Demonstration Zone Creation List". On February 23, 2023, Nincheng County was selected as one of the first batch of national "one county, one product" typical cases of special culture and art.
In 2022, Ningcheng County realized a GDP of 20.44 billion yuan, up 6.9% year-on-year, with a per capita GDP of 42,410 yuan; a general public budget revenue of 670 million yuan, up 3.2% year-on-year; a 22.7% year-on-year increase in investment in fixed assets; and a per capita disposable income of 21,633 yuan for urban and rural residents, up 6.1% year-on-year.
