Xinning Town, belonging to Wuning County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southern part of Wuning County, east of Luoping Town, south of Yichun City, bordering Jing'an County, southwest of Luoxi Township as a neighbor, west of the Shidu Township, north of Futian Township, Songxi Township, Yuning Street. The total area of the administrative region is 299.66 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Xinning Township had a household population of 27,858.
In the old days, it was called Fangshi; in October 2003, Huangduan Township, Yanyang Township, and Nanshi Township were abolished and assigned to Xinning Town.
