Park Overview
Established on July 12, 1992, the Jiujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone is one of the first development zones in Jiangxi Province and a full member of the China Development Zones Association. On March 21, 2010, it was upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone with the approval of the State Council. The zone currently covers an area of nearly 150 square kilometers, comprising 1 township, 2 sub-districts, 3 subdistrict offices, and 4 industrial parks, with a total population of approximately 150,000.The Jiujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone enjoys a superior location and convenient transportation. Adjacent to Hunan, Hubei, and Anhui provinces, the zone is situated at the hub of China’s north-south and east-west exchanges, formed by the Yangtze River’s “golden waterway” and the Beijing-Kowloon Railway. As the core area of Jiangxi Province’s National Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone, it possesses unique geographical advantages. The Shanghai International Port Group’s Jiujiang Port, located within the zone, is a Class I national port and one of the top ten ports in the Yangtze River basin, serving as a cargo distribution hub for Jiangxi, Hubei, Anhui, and Hunan provinces. The 300,000-TEU container terminal at the Jiujiang Chengxi Port Area, invested in and constructed by the Shanghai International Port Group, began operations at the end of 2008. It has launched container shipping routes connecting Jiujiang, Shanghai, and ports worldwide, with more than 20 weekly sailings.
