Duwei town, belongs to Fujian Province, Putian City, Xianyou County, is located in Xianyou County, west central, southeast and south of Dazhi Town, west and northwest of Quanzhou City, respectively, Yongchun, Dehua adjacent, north and northeast of Xiyuan Township border. The administrative area covers 114.8 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Duwei Township had a household population of 93,247. From 1950 to 1951, it was part of the Seventh District of Xianyou.In June 1955, the Seventh District was changed to Duwei District.In December 1958, Duwei Commune was established.In November 1984, the commune was changed to a township.In March 1985, the township was changed to a town. As of October 2021, Duwei Township has 3 communities and 16 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
