Qiantang Town, belonging to Chongqing Hechuan District, is located in the northern part of Hechuan District, east of Hechuan District Longshi Town, south of Hechuan District Yunmen Street, west of the Jialing River and Dashi Street, Gulou Town across the river, north of Sichuan Wusheng County and Hechuan District of the Shayu Town border, 23 kilometers away from the seat of the People's Government of Hechuan District, the area covers a total area of 139.99 square kilometers.
In the Ming Dynasty, the area around Qiantang Town was set up as a round cesspool field, belonging to Hezhou; in November 1985, Qiantang Township was withdrawn to build Qiantang Town. As of the end of 2018, the household population of Qiantang Town was 91,218. As of June 2020, Qiantang Town has 3 communities and 24 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town's people's government is located at No. 77 Faxing Street.
