Sanmiao Town, belonging to Chongqing Hechuan District, is located in the northwestern part of Hechuan District, east of Wusheng County, Sichuan Province, bordering Qingping Town, southeast of the town connected with the Gulou, south of Longxing Town, west of Longfeng Town, north of Yanwu Town, 37 kilometers away from the people's government of the district of Hechuan, the region covers a total area of 85.4 square kilometers. In the second year of Kaibao of the Northern Song Dynasty (969), the territory of Sanmiao Town belonged to Heming Town of Hanchu County of Hezhou; in December 1993, Sanmiao Town was built by the merger of Sanmiao Township and Sanchuan Township. As of the end of 2018, the household population of Sanmiao Town was 53,600.
