Lushi Town, belonging to Fengqing County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, is located in the northeastern part of Fengqing County, neighboring Xinhua Township in the east, Dasi Township and Xiaowan Town across the river in the south, bordering Goujie Township, Changning County, Baoshan City in the west, and adjoining Shili Township and Niujie Township, Weishan County in the north. The area of jurisdiction is 318.03 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2019, the household population of Lushi Township was 26,867.
In the twenty-sixth year of the Wanli reign of the Ming dynasty (1598), an inspection division was set up to open up a street field. In November 1962, Shili, Xinhua, and Yongxin townships were divided to form a district; in May 1969, the district was changed to a commune; in January 1984, the commune was changed to a district; in March 1988, the district was abolished and the town was established. As of June 2020, Rushi Town has 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The people's government of the town is located in Lushi Village.
In 2011, the financial expenditures of Lushi Township amounted to 7.16 million yuan, an increase of 16.4% over the previous year. At the end of the year, the balance of all kinds of deposits in financial institutions was 96.12 million yuan, an increase of 3.4% over the previous year; the balance of all loans was 32.56 million yuan, an increase of 25.2% over the previous year.
