Jinji Township, belonging to Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, is located in the central part of Longyang District, on the northeastern edge of Baoshan Dam, bordering with Wadu Township in the east, Hetu Street in the south, Banqiao Township in the west, and Shuizhai Township in the northeast, with an administrative area of 51.64 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Jinji Township has a household population of 28,919.
During the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Buwei County; in February 1984, Jinji Commune was incorporated into Banqiao and Hetu Districts; in January 1988, it was renamed Jinji Township. As of June 2020, Jinji Township has 6 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is located in Jinji Village.
