Prophema Township, belonging to Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, is located in the southeastern part of Longyang District, between the tail end of the Nushan Mountain Range, bordering Databa Township, Changning County in the east, Xiyi Township in the south, Hanzhuang Township in the west, and Wadu Township in the north, with an area of 219.16 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, the registered population of Prop Ma Township is 29,320.
During the Ming Dynasty, it was Taiheli; in 1984, it was restored as Prophema District; in February 1988, Prophema District was changed to Prophema Township. As of June 2020, Prop Ma Township has 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is based in Prop Ma Village.
