Beicang Town, belonging to Beichen District, Tianjin City, is located in the central part of Beichen District and the northern end of Beijing-Tianjin Road on the outskirts of the city, bordering Xiaodian Town in the east, Tianmu Town in the south, Shuangkou Town and Qingguang Town in the west, and Shuangjie Town and the Economic Development Zone of Beichen District in the north across the Yongdingxin River, with the administrative area of the town covering an area of 32.47 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Beicang Town had a household population of 50,905.
In October 1958, it was reclassified as the Happy (Beicang) People's Commune of Hongqiao District.In February 1962, it was reclassified to the jurisdiction of Beijiao District.In December 1986, it was formally established as a town. As of June 2020, Beicang Town has 11 communities and 13 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the town's people's government residing in Beicang Village.
In 2011, the total revenue of Beicang Town was 1.04 billion yuan, an increase of 25% over the previous year. Among them, the local financial revenue was 280 million yuan, an increase of 27% over the previous year. As of the end of 2019, Beicang Town has 389 industrial enterprises, including 19 industrial enterprises above scale, and 19 supermarkets or general stores with business area over 50 square meters.
