Caimushan Township, belonging to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Xilin Gol League Duolun County, is located in the north of Duolun County, east and Luanyuan Township as a neighbor, south and Duolun Nuoer Township adjacent to the west and zhenlan Banner and Wuyi stock farms junction, the north and the Keqi and the mechanical forestry border, from the People's Government of Duolun County, 11 km, with a total area of 1,241.43 square kilometers.
In the thirty-fourth year of the Republic of China (1945), the realm of the present Caimushan Township belongs to the fourth district Caimushan Township; in 1984, it was changed from Caimushan Commune to Caimushan Township. As of the end of 2019, the registered population of Caimushan Township is 17,118. As of June 2020, Caimushan Township has 11 administrative villages under its jurisdiction; the township people's government is based in Baichengzi Village.
As of the end of 2019, Caimushan Township had 18 industrial enterprises, including 2 above scale, and 18 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
