Fengzhen, county-level city under the jurisdiction of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, administered by the city of Ulanqab, is located in the south-central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the southern part of the city of Ulanqab, situated in the hilly area along the eastern edge of the Inner Mongolia Plateau, with a temperate continental monsoon climate, adjoining six banners and counties (districts), with a total area of 2,722 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Fengzhen City has 5 streets, 5 towns, 3 townships, and 1 other township-level unit under its jurisdiction. According to the data of the seventh national census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Fengzhen City was 195,229 people.
Qing dynasty qianlong fifteen years (1750), fengchuanwei and zhenningshuo merge set hall rule, take fengchuanwei and zhenningshuo first word essay hall name, thus named fengzhen. The first year of the Republic of China (1912), Fengzhen Hall changed to Fengzhen County; Republic of China eighteen years (1929), assigned to Suiyuan Province; in April 1958, belonging to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Ulanqab League; in November 1990, Fengzhen County set up a city; in December 2003, approved by the State Council, Ulanqab League officially removed the League set up a city, the city of Fengzhen by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region under the jurisdiction of the Ulanqab City, the proxy.
The main attractions of Fengzhen City are Jinlong Dawang Temple, Longshengzhuang Mosque, Xuegang Mountain, Lingyan Temple, etc. On February 1, 2021, Fengzhen City was selected as "Creating National Barrier-Free Environment Demonstration Cities, Counties, Villages, and Towns List".In August, 2021, Fengzhen City was selected as "E-commerce into the Countryside Comprehensive Demonstration County (Second Batch) List in 2021". On September 8, 2021, Fengzhen City was selected as the "Pilot List of Distributed Rooftop Photovoltaic Development in the Whole County (City and District)".
In 2022, Fengzhen realized a gross domestic product (GDP) of 11.41 billion yuan, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year; the ratio of the added value of the first, second and third industries was 12.7:55.3:32.0; the general public budget revenue was 556 million yuan, an increase of 12.1% year-on-year; the investment in fixed assets reached 3.65 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8% year-on-year; the per capita disposable income of the residents in the rural areas and the towns reached 18,324 yuan respectively; and the per capita disposable income of the urban residents reached 1,324 million yuan.
