Saihan District, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hohhot City, political, economic and cultural center, located in the central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, southeastern Hohhot City, located in the southern foothills of the Great Green Mountains, the northeastern part of the Tumet Plain, is a temperate continental climate, adjacent to the five counties and districts, with a total area of 1,025.2 square kilometers. As of June 2023, Saihan District has 8 streets and 3 towns under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh census data, as of zero hour on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Saihan District is 885,321 people.
"Saihan" is a Mongolian word meaning beautiful, beautiful. The Republic of China thirty-eight years (1949) on September 19, Quisui city peacefully liberated, the present Saihan District area under the jurisdiction of the Quisui City District Office, Quisui County and Tumet Banner. 1956, September 20, the establishment of Hohhot Suburban District People's Committee, Hohhot Suburban District to become the flag county-level establishment. 1980, December, Hohhot Suburban District Revolutionary Committee renamed Hohhot Suburban District People's Government. 2000, June 14, the Suburban District people's government. On June 14, 2000, the suburb was officially renamed Saihan District.
The main attractions of Saihan District include the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Exhibition Hall, the Ethnic Museum of the University of Inner Mongolia, and the Schentana Art Museum, etc. On July 17, 2020, Saihan District was selected as one of the "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Model Cities (Flag Counties and Urban Areas)". On September 8, 2021, Saihan District was selected as the "Pilot List of Distributed Photovoltaic Development on Roofs of Whole Counties (Municipalities and Districts)". on December 4, 2023, Saihan District was selected as the "Preliminary Publication List of National Advanced Unit of Fertility Friendly Work to be Commended".
In 2023, Saihan District will realize a gross domestic product (GDP) of 105 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10%; general public budget revenue of 4.63 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.2%; investment in fixed assets of 21 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38%; and a per capita disposable income of 53,600 yuan for all residents, a year-on-year increase of 6%.
