Chifeng City, formerly known as Zhao Uda League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, prefecture-level cities, II-type large cities, located in southeastern Inner Mongolia, Mongolia, Hebei and Liao provinces and regions at the intersection of the southeast and Chaoyang, southwest and Chengde adjacent to the east and Tongliao connected to the north-west and the border with the Xilin Gol League; is located inland, belongs to the temperate zone of semi-arid continental monsoon climate zone, the city's total area of 90,021 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of the three districts, seven banners and two counties. As of the end of 2022, Chifeng City has a resident population of 4.001 million. On October 10, 1983, the administrative office of Zhaoda League was abolished and Chifeng City was established. Chifeng named red mountain meaning, because of the ochre-red peaks in the northeast of the city and named, Mongolian "Ulanhada", is located in the northeast, north China, the combination of superior location, convenient transportation, is the capital of the Economic Circle and the Bohai Economic Circle is an important node of the city, is the closest city in Inner Mongolia from the sea. There are many national cultural relics protection units, because of the Hongshan culture "national treasure" jasper dragon discovery, also known as "jade dragon township". Chifeng was once the center of Liao politics, economy and culture, and the Liao Shangjing and Liao Zhongjing were located in Bahrain Left Banner and Ningcheng County, respectively.In December 2018, Chifeng was identified as the second batch of China's characteristics of agricultural products advantageous area.On August 13, 2019, Chifeng was selected as a pilot city for the construction of the national urban medical consortium.In October 2020, Chifeng was rated as the national model city (county) of double embracing. In 2023, Chifeng realized a gross regional product of 219.75 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.8%.
