Songshan District, belongs to Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Is the political and cultural center of Chifeng City. Located in the south of Chifeng City, the upper reaches of the West Liao River system. In 1948, Chifeng County was divided into Chifeng City, and Chixi County was merged into Chifeng County.In 1983, Zhaoda League was changed to Chifeng City, and Chifeng County was changed to Chifeng Suburbs.In 1993, Chifeng Suburbs was renamed Songshan District.On April 18, 2019, the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region approved the withdrawal of Songshan District from the sequence of impoverished flag counties.In October 2023, Songshan District was selected as one of the "Third Top Three Flag Counties", and was named as one of the "Third Most Important Flag Counties". Songshan District was selected as one of the "third batch of national agricultural product quality safety counties".
