Dengta (灯塔市), a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, administered by Liaoyang City, is located in central Liaoning Province. It has a total area of 1,167 square kilometers, and as of November 2020, the resident population of Dengta was 355,000 people. As of October 2022, Dengta is under the jurisdiction of 3 streets, 10 towns, and 1 township, with a total of 193 administrative villages and 18 communities.
During the Warring States period, it belonged to Liaodong County of Yan, with Xiangping as its seat. In the Qin and Han Dynasties, the county was inherited from Yan, and was later renamed Liaoyang County. 1980, Dengta County was set up on the basis of Dengta District, and in August 1996, the county was abolished and Dengta City was set up with the approval of the State Council. It is one of the seventh key freshwater fish-farming counties in China, one of the fourth key energy-saving counties in China, and a fully open county in Liaodong Peninsula.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Dengta City was 16.06 billion yuan, an increase of 1.1% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 3.64 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7%; the added value of secondary industry is 4.86 billion yuan, a decrease of 9.3%; the added value of tertiary industry is 7.55 billion yuan, an increase of 4.9%.
