Quyang County, a county under the jurisdiction of Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the western part of the North China Plain, at the eastern foot of the Taihang Mountains, and in the southwestern part of Baoding City. It is adjacent to Dingzhou City in the east, Fuping County in the northwest, Xinle City in the south, Xingtang County in the west, and Tang County in the northeast. It lies between 38°28′ and 38°57′ north latitude and 114°24′ and 114°53′ east longitude, with a total area of 1,084 square kilometers. As of October 2023, Quyang County has 12 towns and 6 townships under its jurisdiction. The county government is located at No. 689 East Hengshan Road. As of the end of 2022, Quyang County had a resident population of 542,094.
After the Qin Dynasty unified China, the county system was implemented, and Quyang County was established in the first year of the reign of Emperor Shihuang (221 B.C.E.) On May 20, 1961, Quyang County was dissolved and restored to the establishment of Quyang County, and at the end of 1994, the district and city of Baoding were merged, and the county was subordinate to the city of Baoding. Quyang County is a transition zone from the mountains to the plains, with high terrain in the northwest and low terrain in the southeast, which is said to be "six mountains, one water and three fields". It is a semi-arid region in the warm temperate zone with a remarkable continental monsoon climate and four distinct seasons. The main rivers are Tongtian River, Sanhui River, Dasha River, Mengliang River and so on. There are Zhangshi Expressway, Baofu Expressway, Quigang Expressway and Lotus Expressway in transit. Quyang County is the birthplace of Ding porcelain, historical monuments are Beiyue Temple, Ding kiln ruins, Diaoyutai Ruins, Xiudesi Pagoda and other national key cultural relics protection units, in 2006, Quyang stone carving was selected as one of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. 2021 March, was awarded the 2020 Hebei Province village clean-up action advanced counties (cities, districts).
In 2022, Quyang County's gross regional product was 140,503,200 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%.
