Gaopu Town, belonging to Puning City, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southwestern part of Puning City, bordering Huilai County and Lufeng City, Shanwei City. The town has a total area of 105.84 square kilometers.At the end of 2019, Gaopu Town had a household population of 73,425. As of June 2020, Gaopu Town has 1 community and 16 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. In 1949, it was assigned to Nanyangshan Special Zone of Puning County.In 1958, it was merged into Nanyangshan Commune.In 1961, it was separated to form Gaopu Commune.In 1983, it was set up as a district.In 1986, it was established as a town.In 2006, Puning Yingge was listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage by the State Council. At the end of 2019, the number of industrial enterprises in Gaopu Township totaled 83, including 8 industrial enterprises above scale.
