Chigang Town, belonging to Puning City, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwestern part of the territory of Puning City, adjacent to the town of Jiexi County Cotton Lake, east of Guangtai Town and Kirin Town, and south of the town of Daba. The total area of the jurisdiction is 24 square kilometers. As of 2019, Chigang Town has a household population of 61,920.
Chigang Town was part of Huangkengdu in the Ming and Qing dynasties.In January 1963, it was reincorporated into Hongyang Commune.In February 1966, it was reestablished as Chigang Commune.In 1983, the commune was changed to a district.In 1986, the district was changed to a town. As of October 2022, Chigang Town has 1 community and 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The town's people's government is located in Chigangshan Village.
