Datian County, also known as "Yancheng", is one of the cities of Southern Fujian, and speaks Datian, a language of Southern Fujian. The county was founded in 1535 under the Yanping Prefecture of Ming Jiajing, and since 1983 it has been under Sanming City of Fujian Province. It is located in the central part of Fujian Province, on the west side of the Daiyun Mountains, with a total area of 2,294 square kilometers, with 6 townships and 12 towns under the jurisdiction of the prefecture, and as of 00:00 on Nov. 1, 2020, the permanent population of Daitian County was 299,513 according to the seventh population census data. The natural entity is "nine mountains and half water and half field", with 175 peaks above 1,000 meters above sea level and a forest coverage rate of 70.1%, with peaks and peaks, steep mountains and beautiful water, which is the birthplace of the tributaries of three major water systems of the Minjiang River, Jiulongjiang River, and Jinjiang River, and one of the 12 key ecological functional zones in Fujian Province.
