Waitun Township, belonging to Zhenghe County, Nanping City, Fujian Province, is located in the central part of Zhenghe County, connected to Chengyuan Township in the east, bordering Zhenqian Township in the south, Xingxi Township in the west, and neighboring Tieshan Township in the north, with an area of 149.96 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, the household population of Waitun Township was 13,902. In the Song Dynasty, at the beginning of the establishment of Zhenghe County, it belonged to Guanli Township, which was later renamed Zhenghe Township.In September 1984, the commune was abolished and the establishment of Waitun Township was restored.
