Shangrun Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Fuqing City, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, located in the southwest of Fuqing City. The Fuxia Highway and Fuxia Railway run through the north and south, and the Jiao Long Highway runs through the east and west, and it is 12 kilometers away from the urban area, with Long Gao Peninsula in the east, Fuxi Town in the south and Honglu Street and Longjiang Street in the north. Within the territory of the north "Rihai River", in the "Run River", south of the "Yulin River". It has 16 administrative villages and 87 natural villages, and is one of the famous overseas Chinese villages in Fuqing.
In 1961, it was set up as Shangrun Commune, changed to township in 1984, and changed to town in 1992. It is located in the middle of the city, 12 kilometers away from the city center. It has 16 village committees, including Shangrun, Yutang, Yangzhong, Donglin, Shulin, Nanwan, Wugang, Xianpu, Qianzhai, Guanyuan, Yuyu, Shandou, Lingfu, Haidou, Paibian, and Xiajing.
The main enterprises in Shangrun Township include construction, hardware and machinery, daily-use plastics, aquatic processing, garment making and storage battery. The main agricultural products are rice, sugar cane and peanuts. There are eight famous products of the Bafu Run river bridge bottom crucian carp. In the territory, there is a bridge built in the Song Dynasty and the Aojiang Pagoda built in the Ming Dynasty. The founder of the Japanese Phellodendron Bark Sect, Zen Master Yin Yuan, who started the Phellodendron Bark culture, was a native of the area.In 2017, the administrative area of Shangrun Township was 5,277 hectares, with a resident population of 33,720 people.
In June 2020, Shangrun Town was included in the list of Fujian Provincial Rural Governance Pilot Demonstration Units.
