Yong'an City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province, administered by Sanming City, is located in west-central Fujian Province, south of Sanming City, between the large mountain belts of western Fujian and central Fujian, with a mid-subtropical oceanic monsoon climate, adjoining seven districts and counties (municipalities), and covering a total area of 2,931 square kilometers. In the third year of Jingtai of Ming Dynasty (1452), the county was set up in the land of 13 Shaxian County, and was named "Yongan", which means permanent stability; because the two waters of Jiulong River and Ba River converge in the west of the city, which resembles a swallow's tail, and the urban area section of Jiulong River is called Yancheng River, it is also referred to as "Yancheng" for short. Yongan county after the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, are under the Yanping Province; Republic of China in the fourteenth year (1925), by the jurisdiction of Fujian Province; May 1960, Yongan County to Sanming City; July 1983, changed to the provincial jurisdiction of Sanming City; September 1984, Yongan County to change the city (county-level), under the jurisdiction of Sanming City. The main attractions of Yong'an City include Taoyuan Cave Scenic Area, Yong'an Scaled Yinyin Stone Forest, Yong'an Anzhen Fortress, and Yong'an Baizhang Rock Scenic Area.On November 26, 2021, Yong'an City was selected to be on the "2021 National List of Advanced Counties for Agricultural and Rural Informatization Development in the National Counties".On January 29, 2022, Yong'an City was selected to be on the " The Second Batch of National Forestry Industry Demonstration Parks".On January 19, 2023, Yong'an City was selected as "The Second Batch of National Science Popularization Demonstration Counties (Municipalities and Districts) for the Years of 2021-2025". In 2022, Yong'an City will realize a gross domestic product (GDP) of 50.751 billion yuan, an increase of 4% year-on-year; a general public budget revenue of 2.002 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year; a 15% year-on-year increase in investment in fixed assets; an increase in disposable income per capita of urban residents of 45,772 yuan, an increase of 5.8%; and an increase in disposable income per capita of rural residents of 24,390 yuan, an increase of 8%.
