Xiuyu District, belonging to Putian City, Fujian Province, is located in the southeast of Putian City and the east-central part of Fujian Province. It is located between longitude 118°58′17"~119°38′31 "E and latitude 25°01′21"~25°20′45 "N. It has a southern subtropical oceanic monsoon climate, with hot summers, many typhoons, and dry autumns with little rain, with a total area of 526.31 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Xiuyu District has seven towns under its jurisdiction, three towns under the jurisdiction of the North Shore Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee, and one town under the jurisdiction of the Meizhou Island Administrative Committee; the regional map of the North Shore Economic Development Zone and Meizhou Island still belongs to Xiuyu District, with the district people's government stationed at No. 1333, Xingxiu Road, Watshi Town.
