Wuyishan City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province, administered by Nanping City, is located in northwestern Fujian Province, at longitude 117°37'22~118°19'44, latitude 27°27'31~28°04'49, and belongs to the Central Subtropical Monsoon Humid Climate Zone, with a total area of 2,813 square kilometers. As of May 2022, Wuyishan City has 3 streets, 3 towns, and 4 townships under its jurisdiction, and the municipal government resides in Chong'an Street. As of the end of 2022, Wuyishan City had a resident population of 261,000 people.
Wuyishan City has a long history, Song Chunhua five years (994 years), built the county; March 1, 1985, Chong'an County approved by the State Council as one of China's first open counties and cities. 1989 August, approved by the State Council to withdraw the county to build the city. Wuyishan City is rich in history and culture. It has Pengzu culture, Min Yue culture, Zhu Zi culture, tea culture, Liu Yong culture and other special cultural resources. During the Song Dynasty, it was called by Confucianism as "Minbang Zulu" and "Dao Nanli Grotto", which is the birthplace of Zhu Zi's science. It is the birthplace of oolong tea and black tea in the world's six tea categories, the starting point of the "Ten Thousand Miles Tea Route" and the first "Hometown of Chinese Tea Culture and Art", and the production technology of Wuyi Rock Tea (Dahongpao) is listed as one of the first intangible cultural heritages of the country. Wuyi Mountain is one of the first 5A-level scenic tourist areas and the first national demonstration area for regional tourism, with 36 scenic spots of various types, including one 5A-level tourist attraction, four 4A-level tourist attractions and eight 3A-level tourist attractions. Wuyi Mountain's natural landscape is unique, rare and wonderful, known as "blue water and mountains", "wondrous beauty of the southeast" of the reputation, the territory has 36 peaks, 72 holes, 99 rocks, nine curved streams, Tianyou Peak, Jade Maiden Peak, Dawang Peak and other attractions are famous at home and abroad.
In 2022, Wuyishan City realizes a GDP of 23,394,430,000 Yuan, an increase of 2.2% over the previous year at constant prices, with the ratio of the three industrial structures: 13.9:31.8:54.3; and a per capita GDP of 89,634 Yuan (based on the average population in 2022).
