Guilin Township, belonging to Shaowu City, Nanping City, Fujian Province, is located in the southwestern part of Shaowu City, at the junction of two provinces (Fujian and Jiangxi), three places (Nanping, Sanming and Fuzhou) and four counties (Shaowu, Jianning, Taining and Lichuan), bordering with Xiaojiafang Township to the southeast, Heping Township to the south, Xiongcun Township of Lichuan County, Jiangxi Province, to the west and Jinkeng Township to the north, with an area of 158.81 sq. km in administrative area. As of the end of 2019, Guilin Township has a household population of 12,613.
During the Song Dynasty, it belonged to Rijin Township.In September 1984, Guilin Commune was abolished and Guilin Township was established. As of June 2020, Guilin Township has 8 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is based in Guilin Village.
