Caijia Town is located in the south of Jiangjin District, bordering Qijiang District in the east, neighboring Xishui County in Guizhou Province in the southeast, connecting Berlin Town and Zhongshan Town in the south, Yongxing Town in the west, Li City Town in the north, and Jiaping Town in the northeast. The geographic location is between longitude 106°15'13.93"~106°26'59.86" east and latitude 28°47'10.26"~28°59'28.89" north. The town government is located at No.71, Fish Market Street, Caijiagang Community, Jiangjin District, Chongqing.
Caijia Township has a subtropical monsoon climate. The climate is mild throughout the year, with four distinct seasons, and the average annual temperature is about 17~18℃, with a maximum temperature of 41.3℃ and a minimum temperature of 2.3℃. The average annual humidity is 80.4%. The average annual sunshine is 1048.7 hours. The first frost period is around November 25 and the last frost period is around March 18, with a frost-free period of about 250 days. Rainfall is abundant, with an annual rainfall of more than 1,200 millimeters.
In 2014, Caijia Township had 1 community and 10 villages; a total population of 50,327 (2017); and a human-achieved gross regional product of 1.25 billion yuan, an increase of 12.6% over 2013.In 2017, Caijia Township had a total area of 210 square kilometers.
On November 11, 2019, the Chinese Poetry Society awarded Caijia Township the title of "Hometown of Chinese Poetry".
