Jaitang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Mentougou District, Beijing, is located between longitude 115°32′46″~115°50′07″ East and latitude 39°54′02″~40°08′00″ North. Located in the western mountainous area of Mentougou District, it is adjacent to Yanyi Town and Dadai Street in the east, Da'anshan Township in Fangshan District in the south, Qingshui Township in the west and Guanting Township in Huailai County in the north, with a township area of 382.17 square kilometers.
During the Tang Dynasty, Zhaitang area belonged to Guangping County. During the Liao and Jin Dynasties, it belonged to Yuhe County. During the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it belonged to Wanping County, and later became Jaitang Township of Wanping County's eight districts. During the war period, the Eighth Route Army stationed in Jaitang River and built the anti-Japanese base in Pingxi, which belonged to Changwan County. After liberation, it belonged to Wanping County of Hebei Province.In 1952, it belonged to Beijing Jingxi Mining District.In 1958, it belonged to Mentougou District.In February 1990, it was established as Jaitang Town.In 1994, along the river city and township were merged into it.In 2001, the military ringing township was merged into it. As of the end of 2018, Jaitang Township had a registered population of 13,677. As of October 2019, Jaitang Township has 1 community and 29 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township government stationed at 45 East Jaitang Street in Jaitang Township.
In 2011, the total industrial output value of Jaitang Town reached 78.02 million yuan, an increase of 26.7% over the previous year, with an industrial added value of 16.42 million yuan. Total fiscal revenue of 3.104 million yuan, an increase of 118% over the previous year. Realize tax revenue of 23.105 million yuan. From the perspective of the main taxes, the completion of sales tax 543,000 yuan, value-added tax 944,000 yuan, corporate income tax 398,000 yuan, respectively, 134%, 133%, 236% over the previous year. Per capita financial income of 230.5 yuan, an increase of 117.3% over the previous year.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee reconfirmed Jaitang Township as a national health township.
