Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, prefecture-level city, is located in the north-central Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou Bay, the south coast, east of Ningbo City, south of Taizhou City, Jinhua City, west of Hangzhou City, north of the Qiantang River and Jiaxing City, the whole territory is in the west of Zhejiang mountainous hills, east of Zhejiang hilly mountains and the north of Zhejiang plains of the three major geomorphological units of the intersection of the terrain of the south high and the north is low; belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone, the four seasons are clear, humid rainy; the total area of 8274.79 square kilometers. The ancient capital of Yue was built in 490 B.C., with a history of more than 2,500 years. It was named "Shaoxing" after the Southern Song Dynasty's Emperor Zhao Jiu, who took the meaning of "Shao Shi's grand rest, and Xing Hundred Years' Pi Xue". Shaoxing is a city in the center of Yangtze River Delta, a cultural and eco-tourism city in China with the characteristics of Jiangnan water town, the core city of Hangzhou Bay Area, the vice-center of Hangzhou Metropolitan Area, the cultural capital of East Asia, and a second-tier city. It is also one of the first batch of national historical and cultural cities, famous water township, bridge township, wine township, calligraphy township, and the township of famous scholars.
