                    The Jiaxing Xiuzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, formerly known as the Xiuzhou Industrial Park, was established in December 1997. It was approved as a provincial-level development zone in 2006 and as a provincial-level high-tech industrial park in 2011. In December 2012, the Jiaxing Photovoltaic High-Tech Industrial Park was established,In September 2015, following formal approval by the State Council, it was upgraded to a National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and renamed the Jiaxing Xiuzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, making it the only national-level high-tech zone in Jiaxing.
                    On September 13, 2021, the Jiaxing Xiuzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was selected for the 2021 list of provincial-level pilot zones for the integrated development of advanced manufacturing and modern services.
                    On November 14, 2022, the State Council approved the renaming of the Jiaxing Xiuzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to the Jiaxing High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.
