Wangkou Town, belonging to Jinghai District of Tianjin, is located in the western part of Jinghai District, neighboring Liangtou Town in the east, bordering Tanli Town and Degui Town of Wen'an County of Hebei Province in the west, connecting with Ziya Town in the south, and extending to Taitou Town in the north, with an area of 77.24 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, Wangkou Town has a household population of 34,440.
Wangkou Town was founded in the early Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, and was formerly known as "Wangjiakou"; in 1988, it was changed to Wangkou Town; in 2011, Xiaoliu Village was transferred to Ziya Town. As of June 2020, Wangkou Town has 23 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the People's Government of the town is located at No.57 Jingwen Road.
In 2016, Wangkou Town completed the total financial income of 38.01 million yuan, an increase of 23.58% over the previous year. From the perspective of each major tax type, the completion of sales tax of 570,000 yuan, enterprise income tax of 1.15 million yuan, personal income tax of 980,000 yuan.In 2019, Wangkou Town has 172 industrial enterprises, of which 20 are above the scale, and there are 31 general stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters or more.
