Jinzhong, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, is located in central Shanxi Province, with the Taihang Mountains to the east and the Fen River to the west, bordering the provincial capital Taiyuan in the north, Changzhi and Linfen in the south, Yangquan in the northeast, and Luliang in the southwest.
