Pingyao County, also known as Pingtao County, belongs to Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, and is located in the central part of Shanxi Province, surrounded by the counties and cities of Jiexiu City, Qixian County, Wenshui County of Lvliang City, Fenyang City, and Qinyuan County of Changzhi City, and lies between the longitudes of 112°12′-112°31′ E and the latitudes of 37°12′-37°21′ N. "The Rishengchang Bills Company is known as "the originator of modern banking in China", the Shuanglin Temple is known as "the treasure house of oriental colorful sculpture art", and the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas in Zhenguo Temple is one of the earliest wooden buildings existing in China. Zhenguo Temple's Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas is one of the earliest surviving wooden buildings in China. The main attractions of Pingyao include the Pingyao County Yamen, the Temple of Literature, the Qingxuguan Temple, the Urn City, the City Gate Dome, the Corner Tower, and the Generals' Platform. Pingyao County is one of the second batch of Famous Historical and Cultural Cities of China. On December 3, 1997, the Ancient City of Pingyao was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and is known as one of the "Four Great Ancient Cities" in China, along with the Ancient City of Lijiang in Yunnan Province, the Ancient City of Langzhong in Sichuan Province, and the Ancient City of Shexian County in Anhui Province, which are among the four most intact existing cities in China. In 2022, Pingyao County will realize a GDP of 14.17 billion yuan, divided into industries, with the added value of the primary industry amounting to 1.90 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry amounting to 4.45 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry amounting to 7.82 billion yuan. The ratio of the three industrial components of GDP was 13.4:31.4:55.2.
