Shouyang County, belonging to Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. Located in the eastern part of Shanxi Province, it is pillowed by Hengyue, loosely connected to Taihang, and resides in the middle and upper reaches of the Xiahe River, with the entire terrain being higher in the northwest and north, and gradually tilting to the southeast, in a stepped distribution; the county has a total area of 2,110 square kilometers, and as of 2021, Shouyang County is under the jurisdiction of seven townships and five townships. According to the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Shouyang County was 200352 people.
Shouyang is located between the cities of Taiyuan, Yangquan and Yuji, and is close to large and medium-sized cities such as Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Tianjin and Beijing; the Shitai Railway, National Highway 307 and Provincial Highway Yu Yu Highway run through the county, and the Taihu Expressway traverses the county's territory for 47 kilometers, which puts Shouyang into the national highway network; Shouyang has a long history and rich humanities and tourism resources. During the Spring and Autumn Period, it was Mashuyi, and the county was built during the Taikang Years of the Western Jin Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,000 years; there are Fangshan National Forest Park, the former residence of Qijunzao, the "teacher of the three generations of emperors", the memorial hall of Yin Lingzhi Martyr, the heroine in the style of Liu Hulan, and the Wencheng Pavilion and other buildings in the territory.In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization of the piece of distinguished County.
In 2023, Shouyang County's gross regional product was 23.24 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2% from 2022.
