Zhuan (zhuān) bridge town for Zhuanqiao township government seat. Town across the six lei pond has zhuan stone arch bridge, commonly known as the brick bridge, after the blackmail called Zhuanqiao, the place because of the name of the bridge. Zhuanqiao Town is located in the south of central Minhang District. East of Meilong Town, Wujing Town, west of Maqiao Town, south and Jiangchuan Road Street adjacent to the north border Xinzhuang Town, near the Shanghai Xinzhuang Industrial Zone, Zizhu Science Park, Minhang Economic and Technological Development Zone. The total area of the jurisdiction is 32.29 square kilometers. In recent years, Zhuanqiao Town has been named Shanghai's civilized town for ten consecutive years, and has won a number of honorary titles such as National Environmentally Beautiful Town, Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art, Excellent Town of Shanghai for Progress in Ethnic Unity, Shanghai's First Class Health Town, Shanghai's Model Town for Community Building, and Shanghai's Advanced Collective for Youth Protection Work.
