Meilong Town is located in the east, north-south central part of Minhang District, Shanghai. It is bordered by Huajing Town, Lingyun and Kangjian Streets of Xuhui District in the east, Wujing Town in the south, Xinzhuang Town and Zhuanqiao Town in the west, Gumei Street in the north, and Hongqiao Town and Caohejing Development Zone in the north. The town covers an area of about 28 square kilometers, with 16 administrative villages and 54 neighborhood committees under its jurisdiction, as well as three other industrial parks, Xinmei, Meilian and Zhongxin, and 14 town-level companies. The resident population of the town is about 344,000, among which the household population is about 114,000 and the population coming to Shanghai is about 187,000. There are nearly 3,300 enterprises of all kinds. Meilong Township is an important external transportation hub, urban industrial base, modern residential area and regional business center in Minhang District.
