Dingwen Township, belonging to Gandan County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, is located on the Gandanluo Highway line 15.8 km northeast of the county town, bordering (former) Xinsheng Township to the east, Maisumu Township (now Maisumu Township) and (former) Fulong Township to the south, Jinsu Township of Wutongqiao District to the west, and (former) Shoubao Township and Luocheng Township to the north.In 2017, the region covered an area of 45.25 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 12,467 people. As of 2019, Dingwen Township has 1 community and 16 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. In 2017, the number of enterprises in Dingwen Township totaled 29, and the number of people employed in enterprises was 249, of which there were 5 industrial enterprises, 1 above scale. On December 13, 2019, the People's Government of Sichuan Province decided: to abolish Xinsheng Township, and transfer the administrative areas belonging to the former Xinsheng Township and the former group 2 of Vulongchang Community of Vulong Township, Qianjin Village, Huangjue Village, Xinjian Village, Yixin Village and Sanchong Village to the jurisdiction of Dingwen Township, and the People's Government of Dingwen Township is stationed at No. 48 Dingwen Street.
